THQ and Volition finally got around to announcing that third Saints Row game. Saints Row: The Third is being developed for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. The Third takes place years after the Saints took over the city of Stilwater. In that time, they've grown from a street gang to a brand name. They now make money off Saints sneakers, energy drinks, and other merchandise. However, a global crime organization known as the Syndicate decides it wants a cut of the gang's profits - or else. The Saints will face the Syndicate head-on in a new city.
SR3 will be released this holiday season. The first details on the game will appear in the April issue of Game Informer, which should be hitting subscribers' mailboxes soon.
On a side note, THQ's going with "Strap It On" for the marketing slogan. The Internet will spend the next eight months explaining the double meaning.
